Hippie, The Love Heart <3

Every campervan needs a name.

We nicknamed mine the Love Heart after her pastel lilac paint, but I think she needs a grandma name like Doris or Betty. She's eventually going to be painted sunshine yellow so this evening we tried to think of yellow names...

"Katrina, I cannot call my campervan 'butter'"

...we're sticking with 'Hippie' and the 'Love Heart' for now.

Meet Hippie!

Meet Hippie, the newest member of our family.

She was born in Germany in 1979 and is a VW Type 2, Devon Moonkraker campervan with upstairs living in her pop-top. She was originally orange, but along her travels was painted lilac and given a fluffy purple interior (??) and homemade furniture. She eventually ended up in London and this is where we found her.

I always planned on completely renovating one of these buses and Hippie seemed like the perfect project van. She didn’t run properly, had no MOT and had a pretty shabby interior, but the shell was complete and the bodywork was relatively rust free. For a 34 year old bus, I thought she was in pretty good condition.

On the 8^th September 2012 we adopted her!
